🌄 Early Morning Departure

Your private experience begins very early in the morning, with pick-up between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. from your hotel in Cusco or directly from Sky Dome Perú. Departing at this time allows us to travel quietly through the Andes and reach the trail before the majority of visitors.

🚐 Cusco to Mollepata

We drive through scenic Andean landscapes for approximately 2.5 hours, passing traditional villages and mountain valleys, until we reach the village of Mollepata. Here, we collect breakfast to take with us, preparing for the hike ahead.

🚗 Mollepata to Soraypampa

From Mollepata, we continue by private vehicle for about 1 hour to Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike. Upon arrival, we enjoy a light breakfast, carefully recommended due to the altitude, before beginning the walk.

🥾 Ascent to Humantay Lake

The hike to Humantay Lake takes approximately 2.5 hours and follows a steadily uphill trail. The pace is slow and controlled, allowing proper acclimatization and time to appreciate the dramatic scenery that unfolds with each step. Along the way, the surrounding mountains and glaciers begin to dominate the landscape, offering breathtaking views.
If necessary, horses can be rented directly from local villagers at Soraypampa.

🌊 Time at Humantay Lake

Arriving early in the day allows us to enjoy Humantay Lake in a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The striking turquoise waters reflect the towering Humantay and Salkantay glaciers, creating one of the most iconic scenes in the Andes. You will have time to rest, take photographs, and simply absorb the beauty of this sacred place.

⬇️ Descent to Soraypampa

After our time at the lake, we begin the return hike along the same trail. The descent takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes and is mostly downhill, making it more comfortable and relaxing while still offering wonderful views along the way.

🍴 Lunch in Mollepata

Once back at Soraypampa, we return by vehicle to Mollepata, where we enjoy a well-deserved lunch at lower altitude. This is an ideal moment to relax, share impressions of the hike, and recover energy, as there is no further walking planned.

🚐 Return to Cusco or Sky Dome Perú

In the afternoon, we begin the comfortable private drive back to Cusco or Sky Dome Perú, arriving at your accommodation after an enriching day in the high Andes.
