SkydomePeru, founded by Cidelia in the year 2022, was established with a singular purpose: to offer unique experiences and incredible accommodations. The inception of this venture can be traced back to the shared aspiration of Cidelia and Yoel, who were determined to forge their path and create authentic, one-of-a-kind experiences.

Their journey began with a simple yet powerful desire – they didn’t want to work for others, and they wanted to be together always, crafting genuine and unforgettable adventures for others. This ambition led them on a quest to find the perfect location to bring their vision to life.

Undeterred by the challenges ahead, Cidelia and Yoel decided to take matters into their own hands. They not only designed the distinctive glass domes themselves but also undertook the construction with their own hands. It was a labor of love, with every dome crafted to perfection, reflecting their dedication to creating a haven where guests could truly connect with nature and each other.

The founder of SkydomePeru was born in the rural village of Racchi, Cusco, Peru. She grew up speaking Quechua, the native language of her ancestors. From an early age, she embraced her roots and developed a deep connection to her community and culture. As the first woman in her family to pursue a business, she faced numerous challenges, including limited access to education and resources, but her determination never wavered. Driven by her passion for showcasing the beauty of Peru and empowering local communities, she founded SkydomePeru, a unique eco-tourism initiative that combines sustainable travel with authentic cultural experiences. Her vision was not just to share the stunning landscapes of the Andes but also to create opportunities for indigenous women, preserving their heritage and language while providing economic stability. Today, she stands as a role model for young women in her village and beyond, proving that with perseverance and pride in one's heritage, it is possible to overcome barriers and create meaningful change.

Yoel Huaman

Yoel, Cidelia’s husband, was born in Chinchero, Cusco, Peru. Growing up in a Quechua-speaking household, he was deeply connected to his cultural roots from an early age. However, when he began his secondary education, Yoel faced the challenging task of learning Spanish, which presented significant hurdles in his studies. Despite these challenges, Yoel persevered and eventually became an expert local guide. With over 11 years of experience, he has guided tourists through the Inca Trail an impressive 493 times, earning a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable and reliable guides in the region. His fluency in English, combined with his deep knowledge of Incan history and culture, allows him to share the wonders of the Andean world with visitors from around the globe. Yoel’s journey from a Quechua-speaking boy in Chinchero to a highly respected tour guide is a testament to his dedication and passion for his heritage.

Cidelia and Yoel were great hosts, very kind and helpful. The views were amazing of course and the room was very comfortable. They do have wifi if you need it. The ruins that are nearby also have great views and they’re only a 15 minute hike away. Since the domes are in a secluded area there are no shops or restaurants nearby but Cidelia can prepare a delicious dinner for you if you let her know in advance. The view of the night sky is incredible and well worth it. It does get cold outside at night so pack your best winter coat. I would suggest you get there in the afternoon around 2-3pm go over to the ruins for a couple hours and come back to the dome to relax and watch the sun set behind the mountains.

THE BEST FOOD

Yoel and Cidelia were amazing hosts who treated us like family. Yoel built his home and the sky domes from scratch. We had the wonderful opportunity to cook with Cidelia and have dinner with their family. The domes were awesome. It does get a little cold, but they were more than accommodating with blankets. Be prepared to glamp. The location and views were amazing. We enjoyed beer and a beautiful view overlooking the valley on the mini bar near our sky dome.

Stargazing with Alpacas in Chinchero

Not only are the views and sunset exquisite! But Cidelia and Yoel were the most gracious hosts! We were also visited by their friendly puppy, Ghost and the adorable Alpacas! The evenings are chilly but you are provided a warm cup of Coca Tea with a warm blanket and hot water bottles for you feet! Our night was spent stargazing making it hard to want to close your eyes to sleep! This was def one of our most memorable accommodations in Peru!!!!

Exceptional Stay, Magical Views

This was the most amazing stay I’ve had in my life. The beautiful family who owns it made me feel so welcomed and cared for. I got to learn how to cook traditional Peruvian food and explore the beautiful nature around the area. The room was so cute, clean and comfortable. It was incredible being able to see the stars at night. This was such a magical experience I highly recommend. I will definitely be back again !:)

Our experience at Sky Dome was exceptional. The owners, who live on-site with their young children, are truly wonderful people. They were more than happy to share insights about their lives and culture, and both speak English. The place is located between mountains with an amazing view, making it the perfect way to connect with nature, the mountains, and the animals, while also getting familiar with the ancient Inca culture.
